THE EUGENE REICHENTHAL RECORDER FESTIVAL Information Sheet

When:  Saturday, March 20, 2010 (Snow Date: Sunday, March 21)
Where: Brentwood High School Sonderling Center
Time:    Check In: 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM
Rehearsals: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Concert: 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM
Bring:                                                                                                                                                              

1. All the recorders that you will need.
2. A folding music stand labeled with your name and school, a pencil.
3. Your festival music.
4. A bag lunch; pizza, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
*Learn your music in advance.  Payment of the registration fee does not entitle anyone inadequately
  prepared to participate.
*All children must be chaperoned throughout the day by parents or teachers from their school!
*In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather, check
www.scmea.org.
*The following numbers may be used to call the school in an emergency during the festival (631)434-2481 or (631)434-2500

MUSIC SELECTIONS*******Please Note that All Parts Need to Be Covered******

Elementary Section 1: Districts beginning with the letters A-G
 Picnic Basket; Eugene Reichenthal (LIRF)
 Cool ‘Corders p.4A, 16A & 18A; Ken Harris (Sweet Pipes)
 O! Music Sweet Music! – memorize recorder and voice (Teachers may perform in this piece.)

Elementary Section 2: Districts beginning with the letters H – Z and private schools
 A Classical Breeze; Corodon Fuller (Sweet Pipes)
 Cool ‘Corders p 8A, 10A &12A; Ken Harris (Sweet Pipes)
 O! Music Sweet Music! – memorize recorder and voice (Teachers may perform in this piece)

Intermediate: Soprano, Alto and Tenor (students need not play all sizes)
 Processional; Nancy Silbur
 Moon River; Arr. David Eddleman (Sweet Pipes)
 O! Music Sweet Music – memorize recorder and voice (Teachers may perform in this piece)

DIRECTIONS TO BRENTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL, SONDERLING CENTER

From the South Shore take Southern State Parkway to Sagtikos Parkway (North).*
From the North Shore take Long Island Expressway or Northern Parkway to Sagtikos Parkway (South).*

*Exit at Pineaire Drive, go right at the light onto Pineaire Drive (going East).
Cross over Fifth Avenue, Pineaire Drive becomes Third Avenue.
Make a right turn on First Street and another right turn at the blinking traffic light.
As you enter the High School parking lot, go to the left and proceed to the Sonderling Center.
*** CHECK IN WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE DIPIETRO CENTER LOBBY****
